December may depart

In the last days of December, winter keeps biting through the skin even in a chaotic city like this. Waiting at the busy bus stop of TSC, she fights the cold bite and restlessly checks her watch. He's late again like he always does. She doesn't have the whole day. Time starts moving faster as she thinks. She asks herself, "Why can't cold winter freezes time?" She looks into the cloudless sky & finds no answer.

By the time he reached there, she got very little time left. She sighs, hiding her annoyance then smiles at him. He looks at her, she's wearing a maroon dress with a white top. All he can think of is a spring waltz. Looks like she's carrying spring with her. He looks the other way, hiding his flabbergasted eyes from her. They start walking and the road takes them to the place where eternal sunshine stays. A place where even the most reluctant can find bliss.

They walk slowly and continue their inane conversation. Time runs before them and she looks at her watch again with a sad face. Suddenly a veil of silence covers them. A cold breeze starts blowing from the north & she grabs his hand for a moment. Her presence already felt like a revolution to him but her touch? It felt like freedom and for the briefest of moments, he felt free. He slows down but she keeps walking. As he looks at her from behind it feels like December departs with her. As she leaves, he starts longing for another December.
